ARCONA'SÂ BIOGRAPHY
Arcona's familiarity with traditional musical forms has led the band to a long career preforming in many venues. They were the "House Band" at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire for over 10 years, played for the ground breaking and opening ceremonies of the Whitaker Center and the National Civil War Museum, played many festivals up and down the East coast including Bethlehem Music-fest, Harrisburg Artsfest, Snug Harbor Cultural Center on Staten Island, and the Belmont Stakes, just to name a few. They also won a prestigious slot as a formal showcase artist at the Northeast Regional Folk Alliance Conference in 2001. They have been officially "retired" for nearly 10 years, but at the encouragement of the two newest members, have participated in several events recently. The band personnel has changed many times over the years, but the core of the band still remains. Everyone plays an instrument but they all share the vocals and the occasional witty commentary that happens at every gig!
